Rituals of Time – MeisterSinger at the Baselworld
It´s held every year – but this time it´s slightly different. MeisterSinger is off to the Baselworld.
It’s a traditional ritual – and one that many watchmakers, journalists, and collectors celebrate together – the annual trip to the watch exhibition in Basel. Because we meet our jewelers and country representatives there, speak to the press, and hopefully meet plenty of private visitors, we have prepared ourselves thoroughly during the last few weeks, with diaries bursting with appointments, hotel bookings, and a brand new catalog. It displays the carefully photographed stars of the show, i.e. the latest MeisterSinger models that we’ll be presenting at the Baselworld. It’s exciting for us, too, as the most important novelties will only be unveiled at the show itself – and so far we have only been able to guess the spontaneous reaction of our visitors. Still, the Urban Day Date, which we already presented at the Inhorgenta in Munich in February, was very well received and so we’re taking that to be a good sign.
Talking about the Inhorgenta, we exhibited at the show in Munich for the first time again after a number of years and were highly impressed with how successful the event was. Regardless of tradition, it probably has something to do with the fact that the whole sector is in the process of reorganizing itself, including its spring trade shows. The Baselworld is no longer as gigantic as it was several years ago. As exhibitors, that gives us completely new opportunities, as we have enlarged our presentation and relocated it to Hall 1, where brands such as Rolex, Breitling, and Chopard are on display. Our exact address is: Hall 1.1 A21 and we are in the best of company with names such as Mühle Glashütte and Sinn. Another new feature at this year’s Baselworld – there’s a lot more for private visitors to do at the event than simply collect brochures. We’ve always been happy to receive guests at the MeisterSinger stand and chat about our watches. Now, however, they also have the opportunity to try on the new models to see how they feel.
On Instagram – and live on the wrist
As we naturally want to show how our new watches look when worn on the wrist, both here and on Instagram, again this year we’re hardly likely to get the chance to take a stroll around and see what the other exhibitors have on offer. But in the evening, the Baselworld becomes a great big sector meeting for us as well, for instance at the “Watch of the Year” event, where we’ve entered our Lunascope model.
And during the day, at the booth, we look forward to seeing you at the Baselworld. As mentioned above: Hall 1.1 A21 …
